This is one of the games that I don’t follow on the news and yet I just buy it, so I don’t know what to expect. I never played the first game, either.
The reason is pretty simple. I thought the art is pretty nice (i.e., the girls, hehe).
Probably the girl that tips me over to buy this game is Toori:
Whom by the way might be inspired by Monokuma:
Same company (Spike-Chunsoft), after all.
The pink twintail girl, Fuuko, the first and default heroine, is not bad either:
She is like a combination of Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka, lol. She even wears headphones like a Vocaloid ^^;
One other girl I personally like is the redhead Kuroe:
She is apparently a teacher (but young, because she is a genius)! She is also older sister to one fellow character named Kurotsugu.
I’ve played the game quite a bit. It’s more complicated than I expected (both the economy and the battle system)! You need to improve your relationships with the heroines in order to make better children (not real children, lol), which act as your units in battle. You can have about 70 children (and you can tell from UI who their ‘mother’ is) after which you would need to ‘discard’ some of them. Apparently ‘discarding’ them also gives some benefits (sorry I don’t know the right word lol). You can also bring one and only one of the heroines in battles (apparently you can’t even do it in the first game).
Quite a lot of anime cut-ins (probably only in the beginning), though the drawings in the anime are not very good (unlike Gyakuten Saiban 5, which anime is spot-on with the game).
Anyway, I better review some of the tutorials again… (so many things to note >.<).
