Unlocked NoNoNo

So today I unlocked NoNoNo by doing missions.

Oneechanbara-6

I guess to unlock her you would need to get at least 5 Quests to max level.

Also, it seems many of the trophies are about getting Quests to max level. I haven’t seen the list but so far I always earn a trophy whenever I max one Quest.

Then I beat Story mode on Casual using her. It’s a separate mode so it has different records and doesn’t erase the normal Story mode’s current progress. You fight the same enemies in the same places though but with different (and simpler) story cutscenes. It’s mostly about NoNoNo trying to get back to her own world.

She doesn’t have more weapons to purchase and Vamp skills, and she can’t do Heroic Drain and even Blood Recovery (which makes sense, I guess). Maybe I’m missing something, but so far I need to use items in order to recover her health. She does can perform QTE on bosses and some of them (especially against Jabberwock) are pretty cool.

I think she’s very powerful mostly because she has guns; I usually just snipe the bosses. She can also do 360-degree attack with her guns and it’s a pretty powerful attack. It’s very easy to get V-rank using just this attack and occasional melee for stronger opponents. Her normal triangle melee attack conveniently breaks guards, too.

I haven’t been able to make her dance with the zombies though. Maybe it’s just for PV but I somehow doubt it. I guess it has something to do with successful Cool Combination, but I’m not good with the timing… ^^;

    So in essence, Nonono is pretty much a mix of Riho from Champloo (personality-wise) and Annna (sic) from VorteX (being a gun specialist).

    Cool Combos take a while to get used to, but they’re somewhat easier to do here. You can also unlock a Ring that can make Cool Combo input timing less severe.

    Practice mode can help lots, since there’s a meter that allows you to see the correct timing. You can use that as a guide until muscle memory sinks in.

      I guess so, but I haven’t played older Oneechanbara games yet ^^; She can do both melee and shooting though (basically melee is her main weapon and shooting is her second weapon). Even her shooting is kinda melee-ish (like Musou characters with ranged weapons, instead of say, DMC).

      Ah, I see. Haven’t tried Practice mode yet, thanks ^^

    That kind of shooting style sounds just like Annna as well. I reckon Tamsoft just went with a “let’s add another funky guest character instead of using an existing one from past games!” bit, which is just like them.

    Incidentally, Annna appears in Z, though just as a vocal. She’s the Z.P.F. contact that Kagura and Saaya report to via radio after the plane stage.

      Ah, I see. Thanks for the info! XD

      I kinda like how they use their characters (especially Riho), featuring them in different game series, so they are not stuck to one universe. It’s like they are virtual game actresses, lol.
