With recent firmware updates, there is now a new stock app in Vita for parental controls:
Besides limiting the games that can be played, you can set a time limit on how long can the Vita be played on a day!
You can even set different times for each day of the week if you want.
I think this can help with my self-control, especially now that I’m a little busy with non-gaming related stuffs ^^;
So I set it to one hour each day.
I’m still not too sure how the mechanism works, but so far it seems the timer stops when Vita is asleep and resumes when it’s awake, regardless of whether you are in a game or not. I kinda want it to start only when I’m in a game, but it’s okay, I guess.
This is what happens when the timer runs out:
As the ‘guardian’, you are able to enter passcode to extend the times.
I was able to squeeze in one hour playing a bit of the first Dangan Ronpa and Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus.
Took some screenshots ^^
For some reason I just missed Yumi today… :p
